Job function:

The Electrical Engineer stewards all phases of electrical systems engineering. He ensures that the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Early Project Development Basis and Facilities Design Basis, for all electrical engineering are carried out faithfully, and in a timely fashion. Stewards electrical engineering aspects of the FEED with other discipline leads on the PT, as necessary. Stewards the interfaces among the PT and the FEED contractor's organization with respect to electrical engineering and design to ensure quality and manage changes.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Provide overall electrical engineering technical leadership and expertise
• Review, evaluate, and advise:
- Electrical specifications and drawings
- Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project. Reviews completed FEED for correctness, compliance, and operability
- Operability of the unit or plant for start-up, normal, turndown, and shutdown modes. Reviews or sets design basis for abnormal operating conditions
• Steward the FEED contractor's activities with respect to electrical engineering and design including:
- FEED electrical engineering
- Development and design of the electrical system
- Development of electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
- Development of the schedule, recommended deliverables, and labor hour estimate for electrical
- Measurement and reporting of engineering progress
- Selection and specification of electrical equipment and components
- Procurement of electrical items including preparation of specifications
• Participate in electrical technical specification preparation
• Participate in HAZOP reviews


Qualifications:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES:

• Thorough and extensive knowledge of:
- Electrical engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Applicable codes, standards, and trade practices
• Thorough knowledge and expert judgment in the selection and application of electrical equipment and hardware
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 15+ years of closely related professional engineering experience, 5+ years of which should be at the Senior Electrical Engineer level
• Must be able to interface with others outside the Facilities Group to help determine whether or not design objectives/deliverables are being met
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
